I'm a retired police detective and U.S. Army veteran with more than twenty years in digital forensics. Today I manage eDiscovery projects and teach cybersecurity, and I bring the same habit to both: do it carefully, document everything, and make it hold up.
Get in touch What I doI spent my law enforcement career as a detective, and most of that time was spent on digital evidence: phones, computers, and the data trails people leave behind. Every examination had to survive a defense attorney's cross. That pressure taught me to treat chain of custody and documentation as part of the work, not paperwork after it.
Now I work in eDiscovery, where the stakes look a little different but the fundamentals don't change. Legal teams need data preserved, collected, and produced in a way they can defend. Having stood on the forensics side of that process, I know where things tend to go wrong and how to keep them from happening.
I also teach. At WSU Tech I instruct cybersecurity and networking courses, and I've taught as an adjunct at Central Christian College. Explaining this work to someone seeing it for the first time keeps me sharp, and it's one of the parts of this career I'm most thankful for.
Four areas I've spent my career in, and where I'm glad to help.
Keeping matters organized and on schedule across the full EDRM lifecycle, with a clear record of every decision along the way.
Defensible acquisition of data from the places it lives, done in a way that will stand up to scrutiny later.
Examination of digital evidence, findings explained in plain language, and the experience to present them in court.
Practical, real-world teaching for students and professional teams, grounded in actual cases.
A few things I hold to on every project.
Every step is documented as it happens. If a process gets challenged, the record is already there.
Attorneys and executives shouldn't need a forensics glossary. I explain what the data shows and what it doesn't.
Years of handling sensitive investigations made confidentiality second nature.
